Co-Founder of the National Cannabis Industry Association, Former CEO and Co-Founder of Kush Magazine, and organizer of KUSHCON, Bob brings his veteran industry experience, which includes helping to author and implement Propositions D and M, to Onion Plant.


LISA SELAN, Compliance Specialist

Serving as Partner at Selan Law Firm, Lisa’s unparalleled resume includes expertise in all medicinal and recreational aspects of the marijuana industry both state and citywide, founding the United Cannabis Business Association, acting as General Counsel for the leading trade association of legal dispensaries and cultivators in the City of Los Angeles, lobbying and authoring Proposition D and Measure N, and serving as Chief and CFO of Kush Magazine and Executive Director of KUSHCON.

Lisa has also represented the interests of a wide range of people in the cannabis industry, including lobbyists for the Medical Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act. She has knowledge and experience with the stringent standards for the dual licensing that the state will be issuing in early 2018. Lisa has experience working with the newly enacted Cannabis Ordinance.

In addition to founding the largest public affairs, government relations, and advocacy firms in Southern California, Harvey’s background in strategic planning has enabled him to successfully create and execute numerous public relations and public affairs campaigns in a vast array of areas.

Harvey has excelled at creating and running political and public affairs campaigns, and he has worked directly with real estate developers, food and drug companies, along with banking, finance, and insurance companies.


GARY TOWNSEND, Government Relations

While currently serving as Senior Vice President at Englander, Knabe & Allen, Gary has gained unrivaled expertise in politics, government affairs, and communications through his 21- year tenure as Chief Deputy to the last four LA County Assessors, where he oversaw the nation’s largest assessment jurisdiction and assessment roll of over one trillion dollars.

Additionally, Gary has managed and participated in a variety of high-profile state, national, and local political campaigns, where his insight has been crucial to the success of his many clients and causes.


APRIL BARTLETT, Tenant Relations

Founder of Block Properties, based in Lancaster Ca April is a 13-year commercial real estate industry veteran and has represented large users of industrial and office space in a wide array of real estate transactions. Bartlett has an extensive history of successfully guiding her clients with their commercial real estate acquisitions, lease obligations, asset reposition and dispositions. Her specific areas of expertise include strategic planning, space utilization and transaction management.

April specializes in applying her expertise and local market acumen to broker industrial, commercial office, commercial lease, retail and vacant land properties that consistently exceed the investment goals of her clients. EVAN MATZNER, General Contractor & Project Manager

Evan has been working in the construction industry for over 35 years. His background in the construction industry is very diverse. For 15 years, he was the senior project manager for one of the Coachella Valley’s most reputable General Contractor/Developers. In this capacity, he oversaw a wide degree of projects, from residential development, commercial development, medical and government institutional projects to land entitlement and development.

In addition, he has been a co-managing member of several partnerships for 20 years. These entities have developed many successful commercial & residential developments throughout the Coachella Valley and outside of California. As a result of his diverse background, he brings a unique and complete understanding from the owner’s/investor’s perspective on how best to address project needs and facilitate them into a plan of action.


DAN HARTMAN, Security Manager & Consultant

Serving as Director of the Colorado Department of Revenue, Medical Marijuana Enforcement Division of the State of Colorado, Dan pioneered one of the nation’s most famous and original examples of policy and protocols for the regulation of medical marijuana.

In his role, Dan gained experience working directly with federal, state, local governments, and the medical marijuana industry, which makes him the ideal Security Manager and Consultant for Onion Plant, where he will be involved in all aspects of security and will insure that all cultivators fully comply with the State of California and Lancaster’s track and trace requirements for the project.
